When summer rolls around, a weekend getaway sounds like just the thing – but for some of us ladies, that means it’s time to figure out how to lighten our grab and go makeup bag.

Our first step towards a lighter makeup bag is to leave items like blush and liner at home. As much as we love the bold looks they provide, you can get the same effect using just our eye shadow, mascara and/or Coco Bronzer (which works for any skin tone, depending on how lightly or heavily you apply it).

With our eye shadow, you can both blend it on your eyelid and use it as a liner (just check out our Facebook page for the tutorial). Mascara is a lightweight addition that gives you that extra boldness. If you want an extra glow, you can’t go wrong using our bronzer as a blush/bronzer combo.

Wondering which eye shadow shades to grab? I always throw in Real Purity's Vanilla Eye Shadow  (which also comes in a duo with Mocha Brown) is a great color that I can blend on my eyelid and also use to brighten under-eye darkness. If you’re a lipstick wearer, then you might not know how to feel about this next idea – but I say, leave it at home! Long days in the sun can damage your favorite shades, and bold lip colors aren’t necessary when you’re bronzed up and looking naturally beautiful.
