In my 70s so I tend not to wear shimmers; I always use Vanilla as a base and enjoy Misty Blue most often but go to Wild Iris when I wear brighter clothing. It's more intense with a hint of violet so I apply lightly at first in the crease and add more in stages. Walnut is my eyeliner.
I have to say that I love their eyeshadows. I would suggest for those that have only tried the mattes to go for some of the really cool shimmer ones. Some of the best are white shimmer (near the brow bone), wild iris, bright blue, olive, emerald green, dark navy, and icy rose. All of those have a beautiful shimmer to them. I work at a high-end cosmetic company, and we don't even have colors this pretty. They also stay on a lot longer!
